What You Resist, Persists

The concept of “what you resist, persists” has profoundly changed my life. Letting go of frustrations and embracing life’s natural flow has brought me an unexpected and deeply transformative peace. It’s like peeling back the layers of an onion—shedding life’s complexities to uncover a simpler, more serene existence.

Breaking Free from Resistance

For years, I was trapped in my Type A tendencies. OCD, perfectionism, and anxiety dictated my life. Mornings were often filled with nausea and dread until I decided enough was enough. I overhauled my routines and embraced a mindset of intentional living.

Daily goals and to-do lists became my lifelines. They gave me structure in the chaos, a sense of control in a world that often felt overwhelming. But more than that, they became a foundation for clarity and peace.

Intentional Living & Trusting God’s Timing

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that every moment is a choice. We can dwell on the injustices and difficulties we face, or we can choose to see those challenges as opportunities for growth.

When I stopped resisting life’s struggles and started approaching them with compassion—toward myself and others—everything began to shift. Patience became my ally. Faith in God’s timing became my anchor.

By surrendering control, I moved from a mindset of victimhood to one of empowerment.

The Power of Positivity

Life’s challenges can feel insurmountable, but I’ve come to realize that our thoughts shape our experiences. The more I chose positivity, kindness, and understanding, the more those qualities were reflected back into my life.

Choosing positivity is a powerful act. It’s not about ignoring hardships but about reframing them—seeing them as steps in a greater journey, not obstacles meant to break us.

Embracing Peace and Surrender

Today, I challenge you to let go of resistance. Surrender to life’s flow, trusting that every challenge has a purpose and every moment offers growth.

Here’s how I’ve embraced peace and mindfulness:

  • Start your mornings intentionally. Set a positive tone for the day with a simple routine.
  • Replace frustration with curiosity. Ask, “What can I learn from this?” instead of resisting it.
  • Trust the journey. Have faith that God’s plan is greater than your understanding.
  • Choose kindness and patience. With yourself and others.

When we stop fighting against life and instead lean into its flow, we create space for peace, clarity, and inner harmony.
