Asking for help—especially financial help—is one of the hardest things many of us face, myself included. This post is about my struggles with seeking assistance, battling PTSD, and navigating the emotional rollercoaster of my cancer journey.
Financial PTSD: The Weight of Asking
When it comes to asking for financial help, I experience serious PTSD.
It’s not just uncomfortable—it’s deeply painful and overwhelming. Even thinking about it can take my breath away. For me, this has been one of the most challenging parts of my journey.
Recent Struggles
This past week has been especially tough. Negative thoughts have crept in, and I’ve faced aggressive behavior from others almost daily.
But these experiences have reminded me of one important truth:
Everyone is fighting their own battles.
Extending Grace
Despite the challenges, I firmly believe in the power of grace—both for others and ourselves.
- We all have bad days.
- Sometimes, we unknowingly take out our frustrations on those around us.
Understanding and compassion can make a world of difference.
A Personal Reflection
On difficult days, I remind myself to practice grace.
Last Friday, I lashed out—not because I wanted to, but because I was overwhelmed. It was a powerful reminder of how important it is to extend grace to those who might be facing similar struggles.
We’re all human. We all have moments of weakness. And that’s okay.
Healing Through Healthy Habits
For me, healing starts with intentional choices, including:
- Clean Keto Eating: Focusing on whole, nourishing foods that fuel my body.
- Healthy Habits: Embracing practices that support my recovery and overall well-being.
Diet and self-care have become essential parts of my journey, reminding me that healing is both physical and emotional.
A Message for You
If you’re facing similar struggles, know this:
- It’s okay to ask for help.
- Asking for and accepting help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a step toward healing.
- Extend grace to yourself and others.
- We’re all navigating challenges, and a little kindness can go a long way.
- You’re not alone.
- There’s a community of people who understand and want to support you.
